About Malick AMADOU

A career
in the service of excellence

Asset Manager · Author · WAEMU Zone

Malick AMADOU is a practitioner of the WAEMU capital markets, where he has operated since 2014. His career has been built in three successive stages: stockbroking on the BRVM, collective fund management within an asset management firm, and then the general management of an asset management company.
He currently leads AGA — Africaine de Gestion d’Actifs, an asset management company licensed by the AMF-UMOA (the WAEMU Financial Markets Authority), based in Cotonou with a presence in Abidjan.
His public thinking is organized around three axes: the architecture of Africa’s financial infrastructure — capital channels, investment vehicles, sovereign debt, diaspora flows; the conditions for mobilizing domestic capital in the service of the continent’s productive development; and the training of new generations of African finance professionals.
He writes regularly in the continental business press — notably Financial Afrik and Agence Ecofin — on WAEMU capital markets and the structural challenges of African development finance.
Malick is currently pursuing an Executive MBA at HEC Paris. Born in Cotonou in 1991, he divides his time between Benin and Côte d’Ivoire.

“Africa’s underdevelopment is not a problem of resources. It is a problem of architecture — intellectual as much as financial.”

— Malick AMADOU
